There are 550 hotels in Barcelona, a city that receives about 14 and a half millions of tourists each year. This project proposes developing new tourist areas with “super hotels” integrated in the main tourist nuclei.
The plan is to use new technological systems (electricity generated by rental bicycles and the steps of tourists treading on streets covered with special pavements) to create “energetic roads” that will allow for cultural and energy exchange between tourists and the city, as they themselves generate the energy needed to power the hotels.
